Welcome to Awakenings

Life IS history in the making. Every word we say, everything we do becomes history the moment it is said or done. Life void of memories leaves nothing but emptiness. For those who might consider history boring, think again: It is who we are, what we do and why we are here. We are certainly individuals in our thoughts and deeds but we all germinated from seeds planted long, long ago.

Kindness & Kudos

On February 15, we encountered Do a Grouch a  Favor Day with a challenge, which would definitely fall into the category as a Random Act of Kindness. It is often hard to muster up a smile when greeted by a total grouch but as we often discover that is all that person needs to turn a frown upside down. Moving on to this next celebration continues with another challenge. This venture, however, truly should become an everyday habit not a challenge at all.

February 17 is...

Random Acts Of Kindness Day

I have to mention my husband on this day since he is about as spontaneous and random as anyone could possibly be. This is meant, of course, in a good way! Mainly it is his quick wit which never becomes dull but remains sharp as a tack in spite of constant pain. Of course, he has his moments. He is human. Anyway, to the point...it really does not matter the day, the time, where he is, or the person who crosses his path at the time, he will without thought give a stranger a compliment. It may seem off-the-wall, is totally unexpected, BUT WOW! look at the smile he just brought to someone's face! He totally amazes me.

Let someone go ahead of you in line,
especially if you are in a LONG line!

Say "Yes!" when asked to donate $1 to your favorite charity.

Hold a door open for someone.

Offer to pet-sit for a neighbor or friend.

Compliment someone's attire!
.

Tell someone he or she looks nice!

Walk dogs at your local animal shelter,
animal rescue facility or for a friend.

Write a sweet note to someone
just because you appreciate them.

 Smile. Smile. SMILE.
Who knows? It may be the only compliment someone has received in awhile. Not only today but make kindness a priority every day of the week!
Got an act of kindness you'd like to share?
