Welcome to Awakenings

Life IS history in the making. Every word we say, everything we do becomes history the moment it is said or done. Life void of memories leaves nothing but emptiness. For those who might consider history boring, think again: It is who we are, what we do and why we are here. We are certainly individuals in our thoughts and deeds but we all germinated from seeds planted long, long ago.

♥♫Love is Riding the Airwaves♫♥

Love songs are an intricate part of the music world and a fundamental part of life, especially during Valentine season. Yes, it is definitely a season where Valentine's is more than just one day in February. While emotions will culminate in celebration on that one day, the days leading up to February 14 are filled with emotive thoughts and preparations. Then, of course, there are the Valentines (loves lost and found) of past and present (future will just have to wait). Memories hold on fast to romantic classics that provide remembrances of love relationships where two people intertwine as one while that one song becomes 'their' song.

Love Songs

Different songs appeal to different people dependent upon life situations at varying moments in time. The same is true of song ratings and rankings. One person's Top Ten might not make the top ten of someone else's Top Hundred. There are also numerous genres...classical, pop, country, R&B, jazz, ...

At or near the top of most lists will be Whitney Houston's 1992 version of "I Will Always Love You". It held the No.1 spot for 14 weeks that year. Prior to 1992 many had already claimed this as 'their' song when first written and recorded by Dolly Parton. It reached No.1 on the charts June 1974 and October 1982.

Few singers could flatter a lover like the masterful Barry White. He's so overcome with praise for his lover here that his deep growl positively bursts into the chorus of "You're the first, my last, my everything!"

This duo's song of a love encompassing mountains, sea and sky was an instant romantic classic. Few songs capture the moment of pledging deep undying love so well.
This song would turn anyone into a believer in love at first sight. Roberta Flack's unadorned voice with simple accompaniment was featured in the Clint Eastwood movie Play Misty for Me and made her into a star. Hearing her take off with "I thought the sun rose in your eyes..." can still send chills up the spine.
There are songs that go straight to the point. You know, there's no mind-boggling lyrics or twists in the story - they just come directly from the heart. And 'Just the Way You Are' is one of those songs. There's nothing mind-blowing about it. It's just telling a woman she looks beautiful the way she IS - and, let's be honest, what woman doesn't want to hear those words?!
These barely touch the surface. Is YOUR song among the list? OR Maybe one of these just might become a symbol of your love riding the airwaves!
