Welcome to Awakenings

Life IS history in the making. Every word we say, everything we do becomes history the moment it is said or done. Life void of memories leaves nothing but emptiness. For those who might consider history boring, think again: It is who we are, what we do and why we are here. We are certainly individuals in our thoughts and deeds but we all germinated from seeds planted long, long ago.

AUTUMN is here!

TODAY it's official...AUTUMN is here! Gone are the swimming excursions, cold popsicles and lazy days of summer. Taking their places are a rejuvenation of spirit and wonderment over the upcoming color changes in their crowning glory.

It is the summer's great last heat,
It is the fall's first chill: They meet.

TOMORROW marks the Fall Equinox...a balancing point in the light and darkness of the year. The September (Fall) Equinox occurs the moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator – the imaginary line in the sky above the Earth’s equator – from north to south. This happens either on September 22, 23, or 24 every year.

Tomorrow's tomorrows boast the Harvest Moon. Look for the Harvest Moon to shine on the night of September 27-28, 2015. The night of September 27 has the brightest, fullest moon for the Americas. Meanwhile, in the world’s eastern hemisphere – Africa, Europe and Asia, the full moon comes after midnight September 28. And it’s not just any Harvest Moon. It’s also a supermoon that’s staging a Blood Moon eclipse.

Why is the harvest moon so big and orange?

What is your favorite time, place, event of the autumn season? Perhaps it is everything and anything that has to do with the falling leaves...music, poetry, childhood memories!
