Welcome to Awakenings

Life IS history in the making. Every word we say, everything we do becomes history the moment it is said or done. Life void of memories leaves nothing but emptiness. For those who might consider history boring, think again: It is who we are, what we do and why we are here. We are certainly individuals in our thoughts and deeds but we all germinated from seeds planted long, long ago.

July 3, 2012 vs. July 3, 1776

July 3, 2012
One day before. . .

Are you in the pre-celebration mode? Activities have been planned or are already commencing all across America. . .vendors are setting up (if not already in place) a large variety of arts & crafts tempting both amateurs and entrepreneurs, games for all ages from the oldest in history to the latest craze, and tasty/unusual foods tempting even the squeamish lad to stop by for a taste test. Downtown businesses offer sidewalk sales around town squares followed by dancin' on the street as local bands blast favorite tunes well into the night, sometimes early morning. Special concerts feature the hottest recording artists sharing a time-honored tradition of entertainment with the nation.

Families are beginning to gather in anticipation of fun, food, and fellowship. The end of which will be truly explosive as the best of the best try to outdo each other with fireworks that some say are larger than life.
But, one question remains. . .

Will everyone be celebrating for the right reason?  OR Will it just be another big party?

July 3, 1776

To many in the Continental Congress, war was unthinkable.
So why did they finally create this revolutionary document?
