Welcome to Awakenings

Life IS history in the making. Every word we say, everything we do becomes history the moment it is said or done. Life void of memories leaves nothing but emptiness. For those who might consider history boring, think again: It is who we are, what we do and why we are here. We are certainly individuals in our thoughts and deeds but we all germinated from seeds planted long, long ago.

Independence Day

It's the Fourth of July holiday! Ghostly souls of the past gasp and cry, whisper and sigh. They bring tales of sacrifices made by common men and women who lost as much as they gained on more than one occasion. But, inspite of the hardships, they never lost hope.

The road to independence whispers of unfaltering determination and the ultimate sacrifice, death.

Hearts were heavy, minds were troubled but the
spirit of freedom never waned.

Thus. . .

America stands united
with liberty and justice for all.

Whisperings from the Past

What does the past whisper to you?
What turning points
Signify change in your life
Surprises, actions
Outcomes of daily strife?

What call to action
Did you heed
One of compassion
Time of need?

What iconic figures
Reflect in your mind’s eye
Ancestors of grandeur
A painful battle cry?

What sacrifices
Have you justly made
To be a leader
Protect a crusade?

What last dying words
Do you see worth giving
The reason for death
The reason for living?

As you reflect back
On times long past
What of life’s connections
Demand contrast?
